So, it’s the ‘About Me’ page…..

Where do you start on something like this?

Maybe we should just start with today and then see what else needs to be said. I am at a place in life where things are very good. No more punching time clocks, working night shift, missing family events, especially grandkids birthdays and saying NO when I wanted to be able to say YES!!…. I sleep in, stay up late, listen to music all I want and think about things for hours without worrying about where I have to be…

That last part is not totally true, you know…..

My calendar is full most days of things to do and remember. They are things I had to say no to for years because I worked weekend, holidays, extra shifts while working nights- Remember, you have to sleep during the day. So many things missed because of work…. and now, that is over.

Being a Nurse was one of my best things I’ve ever done, but the hours, deprived of quality sleep, lack of staffing, and little acknowledgement when you bent over backward- it took the shine off a profession that excited me. Helping others, watching people respond to the care you were giving- fixed what management lacked, and that’s the part that kept you going.

To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.

William Blake

Aside from Nursing and being outside- Wellness is very important to me. Not that I have it figured out, NO WAY!…. but I THINK about it all the time- putting ideas out, moving forward, taking a step back- it’s a process. Trying to make better choices and to be a better human, then giving it to the Universe with intention. The rest is doing what I can to support that. Everyone has their story- I’m just wanting to write an ending that is happy!

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

It’s never too late in life to have a genuine adventure.

Over time, there are a few things I have developed into passions that I find real joy in- Being outdoors, biking, walking, a bit of camping, sunsets, beaches, hikes, cross country skiing and snow shoeing. I also enjoy good food, quiet times, craft beer, hanging out with friends-

There is a lot to be grateful for these days, and I remember times when it seemed like there was very little to be grateful for- We’ll talk about it someday.

So, that’s a bit about me, a partial picture of the whole. I still live within 10 miles of where I was born, raised, homes I have lived in- haven’t wandered too far away! Overtime, I’ll share some insights to life situations, trips I have taken, places I’ve seen and probably share some recipes that are good. I’ll add my “lucky shot” photos I’ve taken, put in some links for additional information, web-sites supporting the discussion of places and services and hope you become inspired, and feel encouraged to get out, see whatever it is you want to see…. before it is to late!

I feel a breeze starting to come along……..
